Don Ayers, a weekend dirt track racer from Winchester, TN, received a great post-Christmas gift from Speedway Motorsports and Performance Racing Network Official, when he was informed he had won the 2004 SMI Ultimate Speedway Tour Sweepstakes.

Ayers, who currently runs in the open wheel division at Winchester Speedway, was selected from hundreds of thousands of entries and indicated that one day he’d like to compete in the Cup Series like his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon..

The Grand Prize includes six different trips for NASCAR race weekends for two people at the following SMI Speedways: Las Vegas, Texas, Lowe’s, Bristol, Atlanta Motor Speedways, and Infineon Raceway. The package also includes having pictures taken in victory lane at each race, race tickets, pit passes, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and $2,000 in spending money.
For the fourth consecutive year, Marcus Smith, Vice President of Business Development for SMI, announced during the annual NASCAR NEXTEL Media Tour, hosted by Lowe’s Motor Speedway, that Speedway Motorsports will continue with the year-long sweepstakes concept. The Ultimate Speedway Tour will morph into the “SMI Super Six” Sweepstakes with some positive changes for 2005, allowing six different fans the opportunity to visit one of SMI’s “super” six Speedway Motorsports’ facilities.

The revamped “SMI Super Six” Sweepstakes will allow the first place winner to pick from all six SMI facilities. The second place winner will pick from the remaining five and so on. SMI also announced that Nationwide Insurance and WIX Filtration will return as sponsors. These sponsors along with Performance Racing Network will unite in the year-long sweepstakes, recognized as one of the best in racing! Six lucky fans will have a chance to experience the ultimate race fan’s dream!

“The SMI Super Six Sweepstakes is part of SMI’s ‘Fan’s First’ initiative,” said Smith. “It’s great that more fans will win trips to our speedways by entering. We know that this program will make a lot of people very happy.”

Sweepstakes entry forms are available at hundreds of locations across the United States including participating WIX Filtrations dealer’s nation wide, Nationwide agencies and at SMI’s six Speedway facilities. Fans also can register online at www.goprn.com, www.gospeedway.com, www.nationwide.com and www.wixfilters.com.
