| WIX Filters, manufacturer of the oil, air and fuel filters used on the track by nearly 100 percent of NASCAR race teams, joined hundreds of companies in supporting NASCAR Day on Friday, May 20.

The company, whose products have performed successfully for more than 40 years in the top stock car racing circuits, celebrated the day’s events by hosting an employee cookout at each of its manufacturing facilities and its Gastonia, N.C. headquarters. Employees who purchased the official 2005 NASCAR Day pin for $5 at participating retail locations were encouraged to wear their pin to work along with their favorite NASCAR attire. Proceeds from the sale of NASCAR Day pins benefited Speediatrics, Speedway Children’s Charities and the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
Bruce Johnston, brand manager for WIX Filters, said the company considers NASCAR Day a terrific opportunity to give something back to disadvantaged youth and other fans who support the sport that offers such high visibility for sponsors such as WIX. He also said NASCAR Day offers the company a way to support the outside-of-work interests of WIX employees.
“Our presence in NASCAR has been a tremendous boost to our brand, and we want to support NASCAR’s efforts to make a positive contribution to the community,” said Johnston. “Beyond what success on the NASCAR track means to our company’s bottom line, we’re proud to support NASCAR Day and the charities supported by proceeds from these activities because many of our employees are avid race fans.”
