TODD BODINE, No. 30 LUMBER LIQUIDATORS TOYOTA: DID YOU THINK THE TEAM WOULD BE THIS STRONG AT THE START OF THE SEASON? “We hoped so. I mean, we use to be consistently in the top-five and we kind of lost a little bit towards the end of last year and Junior (Mike Hillman Jr., crew chief) and the guys worked hard all winter to figure out how to get our consistency back, how to get our setups more consistent through a run and hopefully we’ve done that. TO this point we’ve done really well. It’s just a matter of hard work and when you get to the track it’s doing the right things to put yourself in that position.” HOW IMPORTANT IS MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY TO YOU? THE BODINE FAMILY HAS A RICH TRADITION HERE. “It’s as close to a home track as we get other that Watkins Glen, which is home. I’ve been coming here since I was seven watching Geoff and Brett race. I changed tires on pit road here in the modifieds and I’ve been fortunate enough to drive every division here, including late model stock cars. And I graduated high school right up the road in Franklin County. It means a lot to our family. Geoff and Brett have had a lot of success here. You might check it out but I think Geoff’s won 16 times here and Brett’s won like eight. I haven’t been able to get it done yet but I’ve always run well here and I love coming here.” WHAT IS THE KEY TO HAVING A GOOD RUN HERE? “Track position is so key that you pit as early as you can make it for the rest of the race on fuel and just hope you get the track position and got a good enough truck that the tires will stay under you for the whole run. Track position is just key here.”
