| WIX Filters Pick 3 with Lee Montgomery brings new angle to fantasy racing on SceneDaily.com
WIX Filters is partnering with NASCAR Scene, NASCAR Illustrated and SceneDaily.com for a new interactive fantasy game in 2009 – WIX Filters Pick 3 with Lee Montgomery, available online now at pick3.scenedaily.com.
The WIX Filters Pick 3 with Lee Montgomery is simple to play. Players choose three drivers each week in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series that they think will score the most points each week. Players can start their own league and compete head-to-head against their friends. Weekly prizes are awarded and points are tallied throughout the season to determine the champion.
“As part of our relationship with NASCAR, WIX has awarded leading performance on the track for years as the title sponsor of the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award in all three series,” said Jeff Blocher, brand manager for WIX Filters, an innovator in filtration engineering and production for 70 years. “It’s great to extend this partnership through an interactive game in NASCAR’s elite Sprint Cup Series that all fans can enjoy.”
The grand prize is a trip for two to New York City for the Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon and a seat at the WIX Filters table to witness first hand the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award, Most Popular Driver, and the Raybestos Rookie of the Year presentations, among other awards. Among the weekly prizes include a Jeff Gordon Racing School gift certificate, WIX Filters Lap Leader hat, and WIX Filters 1969 Ford Torino Talladega die cast car – the one driven by Richard Petty during his 100th career NASCAR victory. “We are very excited to have WIX Filters’ involvement with the new WIX Filters Pick 3 fantasy racing game,” said Lee Montgomery, associate editor for NASCAR Scene and SceneDaily.com. “Every week fans can compete against me, or use my inside knowledge to help them beat their friends and win their league.”
WIX Filters’ racing ties run deep – from NASCAR superspeedways to local dirt tracks. WIX Filters became an industrial member of the National Association of Stock Car Racing in 1968, and through their efforts during the past 40 years, WIX has earned the title of #1 Filter in NASCAR. In 1967, Richard Petty began using WIX filters; Petty won his second NASCAR championship that season, and WIX filtration technology helped him win five more. Today, WIX Filters are under the hoods of more than 20 Sprint Cup cars. In fact, WIX Filters were protecting the engines of the last nine Sprint Cup Champions, and nine of last year’s Chase drivers. Additionally, WIX Filters maintains a 16-year partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing as the Official Filter of JGR.
