WIX Filters Helps Light The Way For The Youth For Tomorrow

Friday, 02 July 2004

The second annual WIX Filters Silent Charity Auction proved to be a true win-win – not just for NASCAR fans, but the children served by Youth for Tomorrow.

Approximately $1,400 was raised during a silent auction, sponsored by WIX Filters, which was held during the final round of the Clevite Engine Builder Showdown on Tuesday, May 25 at the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, NC.

At the conclusion of the auction, WIX Filters announced that it would match the dollar amount raised, bringing the final total to more than $2,700.

The auction featured hard-to-get NASCAR team items, including die cast cars, clothing, hats, autographed apparel, sheet metal and an autographed Washington Redskins helmet from coach and NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs.

A check was presented on June 28 at Joe Gibbs Racing headquarters by Bruce Johnston, brand manager for WIX Filters to JD Gibbs, president of Joe Gibbs Racing.

“On behalf of every one at WIX Filters, we are proud to present this check to Youth for Tomorrow, an organization that does so much to help steer teenagers in the right direction,” said Johnston. “We also want to thank the race teams and organizations who donated generously to help make our second annual charity auction a success.”
