WIX Filters Sponsors Super Six Sweepstakes

Tuesday, 25 January 2005

WIX Filters, the number one filter in NASCAR, announced today it will sponsor the 2005 Super Six Sweepstakes, a year-long contest that enables six lucky fans to experience a VIP trip for two to one of six NEXTEL Cup races at a diverse range of motorsports venues.
WIX Filters and Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) are offering winners and their guests a NEXTEL Cup Series weekend at one of the six SMI facilities during the 2006 season. Each of the six prizes includes two cold garage and pit passes, two premium tickets with a parking pass, two round-trip airline tickets to the event, three days and three nights hotel accommodations near the track, rental car for three days and a photograph with the winner at the track’s Winner’s Circle.
“This is the third consecutive year of our partnership with Speedway Motorsports to offer race fans the opportunity to win a premium NASCAR racing experience,” said Bruce Johnston, brand manager, WIX Filters. “Our auto parts store customers tell us they want this promotion to continue, as it drives traffic to their stores and boosts their sales to NASCAR fans who support the brands that support racing. We’re pleased to reward that brand loyalty.”
SMI facilities are Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta, Ga., Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn., Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nev., Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. and Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Partnering with SMI on this sweepstakes is a natural fit, because WIX Filters are used by nearly 100 percent of the teams on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series racing circuit,” said Johnston. “Racetracks such as the six SMI tracks included in the Sweepstakes prizes are the ultimate proving ground for our high performance filtration products, and that’s why we continue to build strong relationships in professional racing.”
WIX’s relationships with professional motorsports organizations include product sponsorships for more than 40 stock cars in the three primary racing circuits sanctioned by NASCAR. WIX is the official sponsor of the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award, which offers cash prizes for the leader of the most laps during each event within the top three NASCAR racing divisions and a year-end prize for the driver within each series who wins the most WIX Lap Leader Awards during the season.
In 2005 WIX again will be an associate sponsor of Joe Gibbs Racing, which fields the No. 18 car driven by 2000 Winston Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte and the No. 20 car driven by 2002 Series Champion Tony Stewart. Team owner and head coach of the NFL’s Washington Redskins Joe Gibbs is a high-profile company spokesman, offering the credibility racing fans associate with his proven reputation as leader of winning organizations.
Sweepstakes entry forms are available at auto parts stores where WIX Filters products are sold and at the six SMI speedway facilities. Online registration forms also are available at the WIX Filters website, www.wixfilters.com, and SMI websites, www.goprn.com and www.gospeedway.com. Entries must be received by December 31, 2005.
