WIX® Filters awards more than $40,000 to local FFA Chapters

Monday, 25 August 2008

WIX Filters donated more than $40,000 to local FFA chapters throughout the United States through their popular WIX Filters/FFA box top program. The WIX Filters/FFA box top program has helped the organization raise funds for more than 20 consecutive years.

Between January and April 2008, participating FFA chapters encouraged members, businesses and individuals in their communities to use WIX Filters oil, air and fuel filters and to turn in box tops. The FFA chapters redeemed each WIX Filters box top for a 25-cent contribution. This year participating FFA chapters redeemed 143,478 box tops, earning a donation from WIX Filters, including six $1,000 bonuses, of $41,869.50.

“WIX Filters is proud to support local FFA chapters through the WIX Filters/FFA box top program,” said Jeff Blocher, brand manager of WIX Filters. “This program provides agribusinesses, rural enterprises and individuals with an opportunity to support America’s future leaders, and our continued partnership with the FFA provides students the chance to earn scholarships and travel to the National FFA Convention.”

The WIX Filters/FFA box top program donation total of $41,869.50 includes six $1,000 bonus awards for chapters meeting the following criteria: most overall box tops redeemed during the program period; highest percentage increase in box top redemption from 2007 to 2008; and the top four chapters based on number of box tops redeemed per member.

The White Swan FFA, in White Swan, Wash., earned a $1,000 bonus for submitting the most box tops (7,990) of any FFA Chapter in 2008. Four FFA chapters received $1,000 bonuses for submitting the most box tops per member: White Swan FFA in White Swan, Wash. (228.3 per member); Laurel-Concord FFA in Laurel, Neb. (143.5 per member); Mulberry High School FFA in Mulberry, Fla. (107.8 per member); and the Genesee FFA in Genesee, Ind. (94.3 per member). The Dade County FFA in Dade City, Fla. (2,257 box tops) delivered the largest percentage increase of box tops submitted to earn a $1,000 bonus as well.
