Rely on WIX to Keep You on the Road and Ready for the Next Adventure

As summer turns to fall, beach trips become mountain drives and, with all that fresh air, it’s a great time to make sure your car or truck is running at its best.

When it comes to your car’s filters, how you drive plays a huge role in the maintenance of your vehicle. If you find yourself frequently on dusty country roads, driving through construction zones or in heavy stop and go traffic, severe conditions require you to change your filters more often. The following are general recommendations, but you should always consult your owner’s manual for the best guidance on your car’s change intervals.

To ensure you’re breathing the freshest air inside your vehicle, check your cabin air filter. A general rule of thumb is to check this filter once a year and change it every two years or 20,000 miles or, as we like to call it, “new every two.” As summer draws to a close and humidity and pollen are at their worst, WIX’s new cabin air filters with Microban® antimicrobial product protection will keep the air inside your vehicle cleaner longer.

Engine air is important, too. For this filter, 30,000 miles or every three years is the most common air filter change interval. If you find yourself in some of those dustier conditions we mentioned, a WIX premium air filter is the right choice.

Engine oil is the lifeblood of your vehicle – it keeps parts moving as smoothly and efficiently as possible. For most cars under 10 years old, typical OEM (original equipment manufacturer) change intervals are now 5,000 to 10,000 miles. That said, hot summer temperatures accelerate oil loss, so keep an eye on your oil level. And remember, if you drive in severe conditions, follow the oil life monitor on your dashboard or travel the typical OEM change intervals, use WIX premium oil filters for the best protection.

It’s the perfect time of year to hop in the car and explore new places. Rely on WIX to keep you on the road and ready for the next adventure.
