THE INNOVATIVE WIX FILTERS MEDIA ARE NOW IN PRODUCTION!
The new WIX Filters filter media is a quality you can trust! MANN+HUMMEL, a global leader in filtration, has introduced a new filter medium that is manufactured entirely in-house from start to finish.
Why does this matter? The new filter media offers:
- Advanced technology - a new dotted media structure resulting from improved manufacturing processes.
- Better dust-holding capacity — increased filter durability for optimal performance over a longer period.
- Improved particle separation efficiency raising our filtration performance to protect drivers and their vehicles.
- Comparable airflow - ventilation performance remains optimal and unchanged.
- Soft and flexible media for easier handling and installation without compromising durability or performance.
What this change gives us by introducing a new medium produced entirely in-house, we gain:
- Better quality control - full oversight of the production process and compliance with the highest standards.
- A more sustainable approach - a smaller carbon footprint using local raw materials and the elimination of harmful substances.
- Room for further development - the ability to refine and modify fibre structures to meet the evolving requirements of OEMs and end users.
Production of the new filter medium has already begun. The first batches of filters containing this medium were launched on the market at the end of July 2025. Therefore, if you see the new medium in our packaging, you can be sure that it is our latest product.
FAQ
- General
It’s a new cabin-filter media developed and manufactured entirely in‑house MANN+HUMMEL. It features an advanced dotted fiber structure and a softer, more flexible substrate while maintaining the same airflow characteristics customers expect.
To improve particle separation and dust-holding capacity, increase production quality control, and reduce environmental impact through a more local and transparent supply chain.
- Performance & technical
The dotted structure optimizes fiber distribution and porosity, increasing dust-holding capacity and particle-capture efficiency across a range of particle sizes while maintaining comparable pressure drop (airflow resistance).
No — the new media was developed to deliver comparable airflow (pressure drop) to current WIX Filters cabin filters so ventilation and climate-control systems perform as designed.
Although modern technology is used in the production of this media, it is still recommended that you follow the car manufacturer's guidelines and replace the filter every 15,000 km or once a year.
- Fit, compatibility & identification
New-production WIX Filters cabin filters indicated in the product catalogue will specify the updated media. Rollout will vary by reference and market as stock is updated.
The medium is already in production. The first batches of cabin filters containing this medium are available on the market from the end of July 2025.
No — migration will be staged by production line, region, and part number. Availability timing may vary by country and distributor inventory.
- Quality, testing & certification
The media was validated through MANN+HUMMEL’ internal quality and performance tests, covering dust-holding capacity, particle-separation efficiency and pressure-drop behavior, plus production consistency checks. Those results support our performance claims for filtration efficiency and durability.
The media and finished filters are produced and tested to meet applicable industry and internal quality standards. Specific certifications or OEM approvals depend on the filter reference and customer program; please request confirmation for a particular part number or OE project.
- Production & supply chain
It means fiber formation, media production and finishing processes are performed within our own manufacturing facilities rather than being outsourced, giving us end-to-end control over quality, formulation and consistency.
Producing media in-house reduces dependence on external suppliers and mitigates supply-chain risks, supporting more reliable lead times and better responsiveness to demand.
- Environmental & materials
Yes. Producing media locally and in-house reduces transport-related emissions and allows us to avoid certain harmful substances. The development also enables future media designs that further optimize material use and recyclability.
Disposal regulations vary by country. Used filters contain mixed materials and captured particulates; follow local waste-management and vehicle-servicing regulations. Contact your local representative for recycling guidance in your market.
- Sales, marketing & customer information
Pricing decisions are made at the regional/distributor level and depend on market conditions. Contact your local sales representative or distributor for specific pricing information.
Yes — product pages, packaging claims, sales sheets and technical documents will be updated progressively to reflect the new media. Contact us if you need a press-ready copy, technical FAQ or product datasheet. Installation & maintenance
No. The media is soft and flexible for easy installation but follows the same fit and installation guidelines as existing WIX Filters cabin filters. Always use proper gaskets and follow vehicle-specific installation instructions.
- Troubleshooting & support
Contact your local WIX Filters technical support or sales representative and provide part number, vehicle details, production batch or lot number, and photos if possible. This information speeds investigation and resolution.
Technical data sheets and test summaries will be available on request. Contact your local sales or technical support team for the relevant documents for a specific part number.
